Trap Pond Partners

is a non-profit, all volunteer organization. In September of 2000, we officially partnered with the Division of Parks & Recreation and in January of 2006 we were recognized and approved by the IRS. Most of our membership comes from western Sussex County. As members, we care deeply about preserving Trap Pond State Park's natural and recreational resources for future generations.

Fundraising for Trap Pond State Park

We promote annual fundraisers to help support the Park, such as our:
• Beer, Wine, Spirits Festival | 4th Saturday in September
• Nature Festival | April
• Family Jeep Weekend | April
• Get In Gear Family Bike Rally | 1st Saturday in May
• Selling Concessions at Trap Pond's Free Summer Saturday Concerts

Supporting Trap Pond State Park

  • Constructed a new playground in the Campground side of the Park.

    New Campground Playground

    Funded a state of the art, ADA compliant playground in the Campground of Trap Pond State Park with secured grants and monies raised from our Annual Beer, Wine, & Spirits Festival.

  • Laurel Library Case

    Partnered with the Laurel Library and installed a case to highlight Trap Pond State Park. Our Committee works together to engage youth to visit the park. We also purchase books, in English & Spanish, for the Library, each month, that connect with the theme of the display.

  • Free Little Library

    Added a “Free Little Library” to the Park, located on the Bike Shed, next to the Campground Store to provide free books to borrow, take, or trade.

  • Scholarships

    With monies raised, we provide scholarship funding for school group programs and educational day camps at Trap Pond State Park!

  • ATV Purchase

    Purchased an ATV for Trap Pond State Park for use of the park staff and enforcement team. Allows park staff to get to areas of the park where most motor vehicles can’t.

  • Free Loaner Bike Program

    With monies raised, we built a Bike Shed, located next to the Campground Store, and offer a free loaner bike program visitors of the park. Fundraising money goes to bike maintenance and new bikes.

  • Attending Local Events

    The Trap Pond Partners setup booths at local events to promote Trap Pond State Park. As members, we care deeply about preserving and protecting Trap Pond State Park’s natural and recreational resources for future generations.

  • Bethesda Church

    Helps fund projects around the park, including the Bethesda Church. Trap Pond State Park acquired the church and has worked tirelessly to renovate it to its former glory. Now used for a private rental space and historical tours.

  • Freeze Spigots in D Loop

    The Partners paid for the installation of frost free spigots in the D loop to add additional revenue during the winter. This project also included a freeze proof water tower installed at the dump station.
